Good Friday Walk for Hunger

South Providence Neighborhood Ministries is one of the “stepping out sites” for the 2014 Good Friday Walk for Hunger. We will gather at Calvary Baptist Church, 747 Broad Street at 9AM on Friday, April 18 and walk through the neighborhoods of South Providence and Elmwood and then make our way to the TI State House to join other walkers. for a rally. This is the 36th year, groups and churches have walked from locations around the metro Providence area to the RI State House to raise money and awareness for the lives of the poor among us.

After many years of raising $25,000 – $50,000 for small church-based projects here and abroad and community nonprofits, we have set a goal this year of $100,000. This is a labor of love which joins individuals and organizations in a way that is both a faith and action-filled experience. We will need your help to reach this goal. If you can walk, please ask your friends and family to support you. If you can’t walk, please recruit others to walk and then sponsor them. You can download your sponsor sheet and a flyer to advertise the walk.
