Funds Needed for Summer Program

Dear friends of Louie’s Place,

South Providence Neighborhood Ministries would first and foremost like to thank all of you for your support throughout the years. Thanks to you, SPNM has been able to keep its doors open to the community of South Providence for more than 25 years. As many of you know, our “Louie’s Place” youth program has been outstanding in creating successful and effective efforts for our youth to learn, grow and become leaders within the community.

Every year, “Louie’s Place” summer program offers our Youth Leadership Development group a chance to learn the importance of work ethic, leadership skills, professionalism and financial literacy by becoming camp counselors for the summer. Through this program, we implement a stepping stone approach to leadership where we apply benchmarks with recognition and reward, but also focus on guidance, conflict resolution and accountability with every child. With the ongoing success of this core curriculum, we are able to offer “Louie’s Place” summer program as a positive opportunity and a safe alternative for our teens. Last year, we had 28 teens who were successfully working within our program, and this year we hoped to bring our group up to 30. Unfortunately, due to federal and state budget cuts, receiving funding for this year’s Leadership Development program does not look hopeful for the “Louie’s Place” teens of South Providence Neighborhood Ministries. It is for this reason that we are now asking for your help.

South Providence Neighborhood Ministries is asking supporters including friends, families, churches and organizations for 100 donations of $100 dollars to save our “Louie’s Place” Youth Leadership Development program. SPNM will need to raise a minimum of $10,000 to start the Leadership program this year. We hope that in working together, we can make our 2016 Youth Leadership Development program a possibility for our teens.

Thank you for taking the time to read this letter. If you or your organization is able to contribute to saving the “Louie’s Place” Youth Leadership Development program, it will be more than appreciated. Please contact Jeanette Rolon at 401-461-7509 or jeanette@spnm.org to make a donation or for further information. We look forward to a positive response in the near future!

With hope,

Jeanette Rolon
