The Roger Williams Park Community Garden was established in 2011 by the URI Outreach Center in partnership with the Providence Parks + Recreation Department in 2011. The site includes 45 plots for residents of Providence and Edgewood and demonstation and donation plots maintained by URI Master Gardeners.

South Providence Neighborhood Ministries is one of three food pantries in the area of the park that has been chosen to receive produce from the Community Garden. Gardeners have been hard at work preparing the soil and planting will continue through May. The Community Garden is located down the hill from the Botanical Center. If you are driving through the park, give the gardeners a honk and a wave or stop and thank them personally.
