Volunteers Needed

South Providence Neighborhood Ministries needs a Volunteer Food Pantry Assistant on Tuesdays from 4 – 6 PM. The SPNM Food Pantry is open five days a week and is in the top 5 in the state for amount of food distributed. Currently we serve an average of 550 families each week. Tuesday is client choice food distribution.

Duties
* Help set up tables for food distribution
* Pass out food to clients as they proceed in the line
* Help with the clean up after food distribution is complete

Qualifications
* Must have concern for people under stress, in crisis and in poverty
* Ability to stand on feet for 1-2 hours at a time
* Ability to lift grocery sacks of food and boxes
* Must be patient and caring

We also need volunteers to help at Louie’s Place.
Everyday after school students in grades 1 – 12 come to Louie’s Place for homework help, fun, supper, support and Christian love. We track academic reading and math levels and observe consistent improvement as students are provided caring assistant. Volunteers are needed Monday – Friday 3 – 5:30 PM.
